Thanksgiving combines two of my favorite things- self reflection and eating too much. While I could, with unchallenged authority, expound upon the joys of a perfectly executed corn casserole, today’s post is all about gratitude.
I am a self reflection junkie. I love looking inward and improving my life in big and little ways. From audio books, to health crazes, to tarot and beyond- seeking the best life possible has become my favorite hobby. For many, Thanksgiving is a time to look around and realize how good you have it. What if we could feel that gratitude everyday?
I’ve compiled a list of my favorite ways to stay thankful, everyday. What are yours?

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
When “life changing” is in the title, I immediately think “ok, sure.” But it’s true! This book changed my life!KonMari is a de-cluttering technique with a unique spin. Instead of identifying the items you want to get rid of, you identify the items you want to keep and get rid of everything else. It’s been 6 months since I discarded 60% of my belongings and I’ve never loved my space, or the objects in it, more. Read this article if you want to know more about the method.
BE THANKFUL FOR YOUR PATH
The Wild Unkown Tarot
Next time you have friends over for wine, break out this Tarot deck. Ask a question, shuffle and cut the deck, then read the meaning of each card aloud. I’ve found it to be the start of some of the most intelligent and important conversations I’ve ever had with friends. The structure of a reading and the beautiful descriptions of each card open up ideas and revelations you never saw coming
BE THANKFUL FOR YOUR LIFE
In December of 2013 two things happened. One of the more “meh” years of my existence was coming to a close and I randomly purchased a Project Life kit. I spent New Year’s Eve saying things like “Nothing happened this year. I can’t wait for my life to start.” I spent New Year’s Day creating my first Project Life and realizing I was totally wrong. Project Life is a simple scrapbooking system dedicated to documenting the everyday moments that comprise a life. You print your pictures, pop them into pre-cut pages, and suddenly have very tangible evidence of how full and joyful life is. Never again will I say “nothing happened.” It turns out lovely, wonderful things happen every day.
